That Time When….I Met A Dragon
Continuing my series of Magical Moments with my tribe, here’s a little story about the time I met a dragon in Hawaii.
I had been actively working with the angelic realms as a professional and immersing myself in ancient wisdom teachings.
About 17 years ago, I was enrolled in a professional shamanism 2 year program. In one of the modules, we learned how to facilitate an Animal Totem journey.
In my journey, which was self-directed, I met Puff the Magic Dragon. Curious, I welcomed Puff who told me I’d be working with the elemental dragon realms in the future. Cool. I thought nothing more of it and made notes in my journal happy to have another member on my Spirit Team.
About 6 months later, I organized and hosted a sacred retreat in Hawaii for 21 people.
My heart is Hawaiian having caught the Aloha bug when I was 12 years old and vacationing there with my family.
I had met Auntie Pua Mahoe a Hawaiian Elder from Maui as a result of my radio show and she spear headed my itinerary and directed me to sacred sites around the Hawaiian islands.
On her home island of Maui, we visited IAO Valley, the ancient burial ground of the Hawaiian chiefs.
The landscape looks very Jurrasic parkish – see photos.
It was a beautiful national park where we hiked, bathed in the mountain river and communed with nature.
Larry Bravar and I were hiking and noticed a path that went “off the trail”. Ever the wanderers, we veered off the tourist path and ventured deeper up the mountain.
Hawaii is one of the greenest places I’ve been to. Pure magic.
After about 30 minutes, the path started to narrow along the cliff side. We both sat down on a huge rock and just immersed ourselves in the beauty of the place.
I was guided to stand up and walk over to the edge of the cliff looking out at the valley and the trees and spread my arms open wide just breathing the mana all IN.
When I opened my eyes, my attention was drawn to the right of me. A huge blur of colour was in the sky. A huge emerald dragon with its wings out was flying pterodactly style through the valley. Its emerald scales shimmered with a rainbow iridescence. Its underbelly had pink and gold tones. Its wings were just HUGE.
I stopped breathing. I noticed Larry (who was a tall chap) standing next to me with his mouth open. In fact, he dropped his cigarette on the ground he was so gobsmacked.
The magical moment only last about 1 minute but we both stood there silent and in shock for at least 10.
We both turned around silently and sat back down on the rock still quiet.
No one spoke for another 10 minutes or so we were trying to absorb what we had just experienced.
We turned to each other at the same time and said “did we just?”
We burst out laughing. Our hearts were pounding and the feeling of joy was all around us.
I’ve since met 2 other dragons – one in Bali and one right here at Hog’s Back Falls which is the centre of the Algonquin medicine wheel.
We are entering into the year of the (wood) Dragon.
Many modern cultures still honor and revere these beautiful creatures.
The Dragon holds a significant place as an auspicious and extraordinary creature, unparalleled in talent and excellence. It symbolizes power, nobility, honor, luck, and success.
2024 is forecasted to bring about opportunities, changes, and challenges. If you’re seeking a shift in your current lives, this year the dragons are here to help.
Inquire about a Dragon “totem” journey, and we’ll get you connected to your own personal dragon.
